Shortly after, in Hooghly, another senior TMC leader, MP Kalyan Banerjee, faced protests, black flag demonstrations, and public heckling. The West Bengal Police have launched an investigation and arrested five suspects connected to the initial attack. These incidents have sparked a sharp political confrontation between the TMC and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused local authorities of political interference and alleged attempts to obstruct medical care for injured party members.
